The Singapore National Eye Centre invites suitably
qualified individuals to join us in realising our mission of international
eminence in ophthalmology.
CAREER OPPORTUNITIES
- Optometrist
You will be responsible for providing specialist optometric
service in all aspects of hospital optometry as well as
servicing several satellite optometric clinics in both specialist
and primary health settings. You will be involved in vision
screening programmes for school and pre-school children,
counselling and educating children on good eye care habits.
You will also have opportunities for active participation
in conducting clinical trials and vision science research.
You should possess a recognised
Degree in Optometry with at least 2 years' related experience.
You should also have good communication and patient-relations
skills. Fresh Diploma holders are welcome to apply.
- Orthoptist
You will be involved in general orthoptic examination and
paediatric session. You will be required to carry out paediatric
visual acuity, sensory and motor evaluation of squints,
testing of squints, refraction, amblyopia diagnosis counselling
and treatment. You will also perform visual testing and
be involved in research projects. You will mainly be involved
with the Paediatric Ophthalmology team.
You should possess a Bachelor's
Degree in Applied Sciences (Orthoptics) and must be able
to communicate well with children of different age groups.
Proficiency in English and Mandarin and other Chinese
dialects would be an advantage
- Pharmacist (Locum)
You will be responsible for procuring and dispensing pharmaceutical
items. You will also be required to give information to
doctors and nurses on drug usage and provide specialised
pharmaceutical services.
You should be registered with Singapore
Pharmacy Board and have at least 1-2 years' related experience
including pharmacy inventory control and purchasing. Some
working experience in a hospital or retail pharmacy is
required.

- Customer Services (Clinic) (Temporary)
You will be responsible for patients' registration, billings,
and appointment scheduling as well as attending to patients'
enquiries.
You should posses at least GCE 'N'
Level qualifications, preferably with 1 year's experience
in frontline services. You should also have a pleasant
personality, and good communication and interpersonal
skills
